Meditation and Silence Retreat – ‘Inner Stability’ – 28 Nov – 1 Dec 2026
This retreat will be guided by Ajahn Appamado, in Portuguese. It will take place in the House of Exercises of St. Ignatius and is organized by Vanda Viveka. You can click here to access the waiting list registration form
Daily and weekly activities
The doors of the Monastery are open every day for those who want to come to meditate and benefit from the space, between 4:45 am and 8:30 pm.
The monastic community performs its two daily meditations (pujas) together at 5 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. These are also open to the public.
On Fridays, after the usual Vespertine Puja there will be a Dhamma Lecture in person, in the Meditation Room of the Monastery.
On some Saturdays (see calendar) an online ‘Guided Meditation and Reflections’ takes place in Portuguese. at 6:00 p.m.
On the third Sunday of each month, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be an in-person ‘Meditation Workshop’, conducted by one of the monks, in the Monastery’s Meditation Room. You don't have to make an appointment.

The doors of Sumedharama are open for those who want to visit the Monastery during the day, between 4:45 am and 8:30 pm, to enjoy the silent and contemplative space of the Monastery, or participate in the daily formal meditations, at 5 am and 7:30 pm.
