Tal como nas celebrações de Ano Novo Ocidentais, no Songkran existe também a ideia e propósito de reflectir e deixar para trás o passado, renovando as energias e as determinações para o novo ano.

As festividades começam às 9h.

Às 9h30 comunidade monástica irá fazer os tradicionais Cânticos de Protecção – Paritta, altura em que os visitantes poderão também fazer o pedido dos Cinco Preceitos.

A seguir, às 10h, terá lugar a Cerimónia da Oferta do Arroz e a refeição do dia. (podem trazer um prato para partilhar).

Após a Refeição, por volta das 12h, terá lugar a tradicional Cerimónia da Água, na qual todos podem participar.

At 9:30 am, the monastic community will perform the traditional Chants of Protection – Paritta.

The visitors can ask for the Five Precepts at this time.

Then, at 10 am, the Rice Offering Ceremony and the main meal of the day will take place. (you can bring a dish to share)

After the meal, around 12:00, the traditional Water Pouring Ceremony will take place.
