Follow the A21 to the end and at the roundabout, exit at the third exit, towards Fonte Boa dos Nabos. After 550 meters turn right, where it says Fonte Boa dos Nabos. After the tunnel, always go straight ahead, on General Humberto Delgado Street, passing through the center of the village. At the intersection, continue on Rua do Vale Grande until you find on your left the Caminho do Vale Grande (before a yellow house with a<br \/>\nwhite wall). In 800m, after a stretch of dirt road, you will reach Sumedharama.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Coming from Lisbon (by bus)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Take bus 2740 from Carris, in Campo Grande, to Ericeira.<\/p>\n<p>Arriving at Ericeira you can take a taxi to the monastery (3kms)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Coming from Porto<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There are two possibilities:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>via Aveiro \u2013 coming by IC1 (A17\/A8) to find the A21 near Venda do Pinheiro. After that, you can follow the same indications as in \u201cfrom Lisbon\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>via A1 Porto-Lisbon, and near Alverca leave for CREL (A9). The following shall constitute the assets of the Community:<br \/>\nregular or extraordinary contributions that any person may make to the<br \/>\ngrant;<br \/>\nb) Any grants, donations, inheritances accepted for the benefit of inventory, legacies<br \/>\nor donations that public or private entities, Portuguese or foreign<br \/>\nto do;<br \/>\nc) Income from investments, financial investments, disposal of<br \/>\nrights in literary and artistic works;<br \/>\n2. When legacies are made, inheritances are left or donations are made subject to<br \/>\nconditions, acceptance of such benefits depends on the compatibility of the<br \/>\ncondition or burden with the purposes and rules of the Community.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 5\u00ba<br \/>\nAsset and Financial Management<br \/>\n1. The Community enjoys full financial autonomy and manages its assets with<br \/>\nfull compliance with legal and statutory standards.<br \/>\n2. The financial and asset management of the Community should respect the principle of<br \/>\nlegality and transparency, and be guided by the criterion of resource optimisation<br \/>\navailable to achieve full independence, financial self-sufficiency and<br \/>\napplication of income in pursuit of its purposes.<br \/>\n3. The Community's heritage should be applied exclusively to the promotion of<br \/>\ntheir respective purposes.<br \/>\n4. The assets of the Community shall not be transferred, directly or indirectly, to<br \/>\nany member of the Community as a bonus, dividend or profit.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 6\u00ba<br \/>\nCivil liability<br \/>\n1. The Community shall not be liable for acts or omissions committed by its<br \/>\nmembers, body-holders or representatives in excess of the powers conferred, or<br \/>\nThese are the responsibilities legitimately assumed by the Community.<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>3<\/p>\n<p>2. The Community shall provide insurance against civil liability in respect of<br \/>\nmembers of the Council of the Community or any other representative of the Community by<br \/>\ncarrying out acts in the legitimate exercise of the mandate.<br \/>\n3. The members of the Council of the Community shall be personally responsible for:<br \/>\nfines imposed on the Community for negligent management; or<br \/>\nharmful;<br \/>\nb) Costs of defense in criminal proceedings in which they are accused and come to<br \/>\nto be condemned.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 7\u00ba<br \/>\nWays to Oblige<br \/>\nThe Community undertakes to sign jointly two of its<br \/>\nCommunity, except for acts of mere expediency in which the signature of a<br \/>\nOnly one of these advisors.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 8\u00ba<br \/>\nExtinction and Dissolution<br \/>\nThe dissolution and merger of the Community may be decided upon only by approval in<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members expressly convened for this purpose, taken with the<br \/>\nthree-quarters of the members present or duly represented voted in favour.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 9\u00ba<br \/>\nLiquidation of assets<br \/>\nThe General Conference and, subject to a resolution of the General Conference to that effect, the<br \/>\nThe Council of the Community may, before the extinction of the Community, decide that any<br \/>\nassets of the Community shall be, before or after the dissolution of the<br \/>\nCommunity, after all its debts and obligations have been settled or<br \/>\na provision to that effect, applied or transferred in any of the following ways:<br \/>\nDirectly for the purposes of any religious community of the Buddhist Community<br \/>\nTheravada of the Ajahn Chah Line Forest; or<br \/>\nfor any Community or institutions having objectives similar to those of this<br \/>\nCommunity; or<br \/>\nfor any Community for use for specific purposes falling within the scope of<br \/>\nwithin the ends.<\/p>\n<p>Chapter II<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>4<\/p>\n<p>OF THE COMMUNITY BODIES<\/p>\n<p>Section I<br \/>\nOrgans in general<\/p>\n<p>Art. 10\u00ba<br \/>\nCommunity bodies<\/p>\n<p>The following bodies of the Community shall be:<br \/>\na) The General Conference of Members or simply the General Conference;<br \/>\nthe Council of the Community;<br \/>\nc) The Spiritual Counselor;<br \/>\nd) Community Consultants.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 11\u00ba<br \/>\nNotices and notices<br \/>\n1. Notices or notices may be given in person or in writing or<br \/>\nby electronic means.<br \/>\n2. A member present or legitimately represented at a meeting of an organ of the<br \/>\nThe community has been duly convened.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 12\u00ba<br \/>\nConflicts of interest<br \/>\nThe holders of organs shall not take part in deliberations in which they or their<br \/>\nrelatives have a conflict of interest with the Community.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 13\u00ba<br \/>\nVotes of the bodies in general<br \/>\n1. Where possible, deliberations should be taken by consensus.<br \/>\n2. In the absence of consensus, votes are taken by show of hands.<br \/>\n3. Decisions are valid even if it turns out that not all<br \/>\nparticipants met the requirements to vote, if the vote of such participant is not<br \/>\ndecisive in the approval of the decision taken.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 14\u00ba<br \/>\nDeliberations<br \/>\n1. Decisions are generally adopted by simple majority.<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>5<\/p>\n<p>2. Decisions on amendments to the Statutes and internal rules shall be taken without<br \/>\napproval of a three-quarters majority of the members of the General Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 15\u00ba<br \/>\nWritten form of the deliberations of the bodies<br \/>\nDecisions may be taken on a written proposal and sent to all members of the<br \/>\nbody if the majority of the members required for the approval to be signed and the document signed<br \/>\nreceived by them at the Secretariat of the Community within 28 days of the date of<br \/>\nhis expedition to the members.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 16\u00ba<br \/>\nVotes of members<br \/>\n1. Each member shall have one vote.<br \/>\n2. Any objection to a member's ability to participate in a vote shall be<br \/>\nbe made before the decision is taken, and the decision of the presiding<br \/>\nmeeting.<br \/>\n3. Members of the bodies may participate by any effective means and<br \/>\nshall be considered as such for the purposes of the quorum, provided that each member which<br \/>\nattend the meeting can communicate with all other members directly and<br \/>\nsimultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>Section II<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members<\/p>\n<p>Art. 17\u00ba<br \/>\nmembers<br \/>\n1. The General Conference of Members shall be composed of the signatories of the minutes of<br \/>\nConstitution of the Community and by those to be approved by deliberation<br \/>\nunanimous agreement of the members of the General Conference.<br \/>\n2. Membership is personal and non-transferable.<br \/>\n3. The Council of the Community shall keep a register of the names and addresses of<br \/>\nmembers.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 18\u00ba<br \/>\nTermination of membership<br \/>\nMembership is lost<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>6<\/p>\n<p>(a)death;<br \/>\nby resignation submitted by the member in a written document;<br \/>\nc) By resolution approved by the General Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 19\u00ba<br \/>\nCompetence of the General Conference of Members<br \/>\nThe General Conference of Members shall have residual competence and shall be responsible for:<br \/>\nThese include:<br \/>\nto elect and remove the members of the Council of the Community;<br \/>\nb) Amend the statutes and approve and amend the regulations by majority of \u00be of<br \/>\npresent;<br \/>\napprove the merger or dissolution of the Community;<br \/>\nd) Approve the alienation or encumbrance of immovable property.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 20\u00ba<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members<br \/>\n1. The General Conference shall meet whenever convened at least once every fifteen years.<br \/>\nin fifteen months.<br \/>\n2. The Council of the Community, two members of the General Conference or the Councillor<br \/>\nSpiritually, they can convene the General Conference at any time.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 21\u00ba<br \/>\nConvening of a General Conference of Members<br \/>\n1. The General Conference of Members shall be convened in advance.<br \/>\nat least 15 days before the planned date of implementation.<br \/>\n2. However, in the event of a majority of members having the right to participate and vote in the<br \/>\nGeneral Conference, holding at least 90 per cent of the total voting rights,<br \/>\nagree, the meeting of the General Conference may be convened with a shorter deadline.<br \/>\n3. The invitation must specify the date and time, the place of the meeting and the respective<br \/>\nagenda.<br \/>\n4. Members who are unable to attend may be represented by another<br \/>\nmember by means of credentials.<br \/>\n5. The notice of meeting shall be communicated to all members.<br \/>\n6. Accidental omission in the convocation of a member of the General Conference of<br \/>\nMembers shall not affect the validity of decisions taken in accordance with the order of<br \/>\njobs.<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>7<\/p>\n<p>7. A session of the General Conference may be held if all members are<br \/>\npresent or represented and agree to deliberate, regardless of the existence of<br \/>\nor regularity of the call.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 22\u00ba<br \/>\nProcedures at the General Conference of Members<br \/>\nThe deliberative quorum shall be that of a member entitled to vote on the matter under discussion.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 23\u00ba<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members reconvened<br \/>\nIf the deliberative session is not held due to a lack of quorum, a new meeting is scheduled.<br \/>\nfor the same day and time of the following week.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 24\u00ba<br \/>\nPresident of the General Conference of Members<br \/>\n1. The General Conference of Members shall be led by the President of the Council of<br \/>\nCommunity.<br \/>\n2. In the absence of the President, the General Conference shall be headed by the Vice-President of the<br \/>\nCouncil of the Community.<br \/>\n3. If he also does not appear or is not present within fifteen minutes of the<br \/>\ntime set for the meeting, a nominated Community Councillor will chair the meeting<br \/>\nby the Council of the Community.<br \/>\n4. If only one Community Counsellor is present, and is willing to<br \/>\nHe could be the chair of the meeting.<br \/>\n5. If no Councillor of the Community is present and willing to preside over the<br \/>\nmeeting no later than fifteen minutes after the time appointed for the meeting, members shall<br \/>\nchoose from among them an \u201cad hoc\u201d Chair.<\/p>\n<p>Section III<br \/>\nFrom the Council of the Community<\/p>\n<p>Art. 25\u00ba<br \/>\nElection requirements<br \/>\nNo member of the Council of the Community may be appointed unless:<br \/>\nis over 18 years of age;<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>8<\/p>\n<p>b) Aspire to live according to the five precepts of the Theravada Tradition and protect<br \/>\nthe fiduciary interests of the Community.<br \/>\nhas the capacity to act as a good administrator of the Community's assets.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 26\u00ba<br \/>\nBenefits<br \/>\nHolders of the Council of the Community, in the exercise of their mandate, shall benefit from the<br \/>\nthird-party liability insurance coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 27\u00ba<br \/>\nComposition of the Council<br \/>\n1. The number of Community Councillors shall not be less than three or<br \/>\nmore than nine and should always be odd.<br \/>\n2. The office of Community Counsellor shall be personal and non-transferable.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 28\u00ba<br \/>\nCompetence of the Council of the Community<br \/>\nThe Council of the Community shall be the administrative body of the Community and shall be responsible for:<br \/>\nelect the President, a Secretary and a Treasurer;<br \/>\nensure the attainment of the objectives of the Community;<br \/>\nc) To present to the General Conference, on an annual basis, a financial and<br \/>\nactivities;<br \/>\nrepresent the Community, through its President, actively and<br \/>\npassively vis-\u00e0-vis any public or private entity;<br \/>\ne) Accept donations, legacies and inheritances for the benefit of inventory;<br \/>\nestablish the annual budget and activity plan.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 29\u00ba<br \/>\nAppointment of Community Counsellors<br \/>\n1. The General Conference may appoint Community Counsellors who<br \/>\navailable to hold the position.<br \/>\n2. The Spiritual Counselor may appoint a Community Counselor.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 30\u00ba<br \/>\nTermination of the duties of the Community Counsellors<br \/>\nA Community Councillor shall cease to hold office:<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>9<\/p>\n<p>(a)death;<br \/>\n(b) when he is dismissed;<br \/>\nc) when he resigns.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 31\u00ba<br \/>\nNotice of resignation<br \/>\n1. The request for resignation of the Council of the Community shall be notified to the<br \/>\nPresident of the Council of the Community one month in advance.<br \/>\n2. Resignation shall become effective only on the date on which the effects of the<br \/>\nresignation if at least three members remain on the Council of the Community.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 32\u00ba<br \/>\nGrounds for dismissal<br \/>\nThe Unjustified Absence of a Community Counsellor to Conference Meetings<br \/>\nGeneral and Council of the Community is sufficient ground for his dismissal.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 33\u00ba<br \/>\nRemuneration of Counsellors.<br \/>\nThe function of the Community Counsellors shall not be remunerated, unless the<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members, but in the exercise of their functions the Councillors of the<br \/>\nThe Community is entitled to reimbursement of reasonable expenses legitimately incurred by it.<br \/>\ncarried out.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 34\u00ba<br \/>\nCounsellors Procedures<br \/>\n1. The Secretary of the Council of the Community shall convene a meeting of the Council.<br \/>\nof the Community whenever one of the Community Counsellors so requests.<br \/>\n2. The Community Counsellors shall, before taking any decision,<br \/>\nCounsel with the Spiritual Counselor.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 35\u00ba<br \/>\nQuorum<br \/>\nThe deliberative quorum in the Council of the Community shall be three members who are not<br \/>\nThey are prevented from participating in the deliberations that will be taken.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 36\u00ba<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>10<\/p>\n<p>Delegation of powers<br \/>\n1. Community Counsellors may delegate their powers to a committee<br \/>\ncomposed of a Community Counsellor and a member of the General Conference,<br \/>\nThey shall set out the conditions for such delegation in the minutes.<br \/>\n2. The Councillors of the Community may impose conditions when delegating the<br \/>\ntheir powers.<br \/>\n3. The President of the Council of the Community may revoke the delegation of power to<br \/>\nanytime.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 37\u00ba<br \/>\nConflicts of interest<br \/>\nA Community Counsellor shall declare the nature and extent of any conflict<br \/>\ninterests, direct or indirect, with those of the Community.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 38\u00ba<br \/>\nMinutes<br \/>\nThe Council of the Community shall keep the record of all deliberations up to date.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 39\u00ba<br \/>\nAccountability<br \/>\nIn each financial year, the Council of the Community shall prepare and submit to the<br \/>\nGeneral Conference a reliable annual report of accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 40\u00ba<br \/>\nMeetings of the Council of the Community<br \/>\n1. Where consensus cannot be reached, the President of the Council of the Community shall<br \/>\nshall decide whether, due to the seriousness of the matter, urgency or legal requirement, the matter<br \/>\nshould be put to a vote. If the seriousness of the matter, urgency or legal imposition does not<br \/>\nIf justified, the matter will be moved to the next meeting.<br \/>\n2. At the meetings of the Council of the Community, only the Councillors of the Community have<br \/>\nright to vote.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 41\u00ba<br \/>\nSubcommittees<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>11<\/p>\n<p>1. The Council of the Community may set up subcommittees with appropriate functions.<br \/>\ndetermined with regard to their respective responsibilities, term of office, members and<br \/>\nskills.<br \/>\n2. Each subcommittee shall report its action to the Council of the Community and to the<br \/>\nGeneral Conference. 3. Each subcommittee shall include a Community Counsellor.<br \/>\na member of the General Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 42\u00ba<br \/>\nDismissal of Counsellors<br \/>\n1. The Spiritual Counselor may ask the Community Counsellors to<br \/>\nconvene a General Conference of Members to propose the resignation of a<br \/>\nAdviser. In the event of refusal, any member of the General Conference of Members may<br \/>\nCall it 30 days in advance.<br \/>\n2. Any member who is dismissed from his post on the initiative of the member<br \/>\nSpirituality shall have the right to participate and intervene in the next meeting of the Councillors of the<br \/>\nCommunity.<\/p>\n<p>Section IV<br \/>\nThe Spiritual Counselor<\/p>\n<p>Art. 43\u00ba<br \/>\nRecognition and mandate of the Adviser<br \/>\n1. The Community will have as Spiritual Counselor a monk of the Buddhist Community<br \/>\nTheravada da Floresta, recognized by deliberation of Community Consultants.<br \/>\n2. The Spiritual Counselor will hold his position until his death, reformation,<br \/>\nDisorder or removal from office at a meeting of Community Consultants.<br \/>\n3. The Spiritual Counselor may appoint a delegate to represent him.<br \/>\n4. The appointment of such a delegate shall be approved by the Community Consultants.<br \/>\n5. The Spiritual Counsellor, as a member of the Community, may call upon the<br \/>\nat any time, an extraordinary meeting of the General Conference of Members.<\/p>\n<p>Section V<br \/>\nCommunity Consultants<\/p>\n<p>Art. 44\u00ba<br \/>\nConsultant Requirements<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>12<\/p>\n<p>The Community should have as Monks Consultants of the Theravada Buddhist Community<br \/>\nForests that comply with the rules and a standard of practice in accordance with the Tradition Line<br \/>\nthe Forest of Thailand, as taught by Ajahn Chah.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 45\u00ba<br \/>\nCompetence of Consultants<br \/>\nCommunity Consultants are responsible for:<br \/>\nTo mediate in cases of conflict between Community Counsellors and the Conference<br \/>\nGeneral Members;<br \/>\nb) Recognize new religious communities of the Theravada Buddhist Community<br \/>\nForest, from the line of Ajahn Chah and withdraw their recognition;<br \/>\nc) Appointing and dismissing Community Consultants;<br \/>\nd) Advise the Community Counsellors on the termination, dissolution and<br \/>\ntransfer of Community assets;<br \/>\ne) Take on the role of Spiritual Counselor if the place becomes vacant;<br \/>\nf) Appoint and dismiss the Spiritual Counselor.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 46\u00ba<br \/>\nDissolution or splitting<br \/>\n1. The following shall constitute the assets of the Community:<br \/>\nregular or extraordinary contributions that any person may make to the<br \/>\ngrant;<br \/>\nb) Any grants, donations, inheritances accepted for the benefit of inventory, legacies<br \/>\nor donations that public or private entities, Portuguese or foreign<br \/>\nto do;<br \/>\nc) Income from investments, financial investments, disposal of<br \/>\nrights in literary and artistic works;<br \/>\n2. When legacies are made, inheritances are left or donations are made subject to<br \/>\nconditions, acceptance of such benefits depends on the compatibility of the<br \/>\ncondition or burden with the purposes and rules of the Community.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 5\u00ba<br \/>\nAsset and Financial Management<br \/>\n1. The Community enjoys full financial autonomy and manages its assets with<br \/>\nfull compliance with legal and statutory standards.<br \/>\n2. The financial and asset management of the Community should respect the principle of<br \/>\nlegality and transparency, and be guided by the criterion of resource optimisation<br \/>\navailable to achieve full independence, financial self-sufficiency and<br \/>\napplication of income in pursuit of its purposes.<br \/>\n3. The Community's heritage should be applied exclusively to the promotion of<br \/>\ntheir respective purposes.<br \/>\n4. The assets of the Community shall not be transferred, directly or indirectly, to<br \/>\nany member of the Community as a bonus, dividend or profit.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 6\u00ba<br \/>\nCivil liability<br \/>\n1. The Community shall not be liable for acts or omissions committed by its<br \/>\nmembers, body-holders or representatives in excess of the powers conferred, or<br \/>\nThese are the responsibilities legitimately assumed by the Community.<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>3<\/p>\n<p>2. The Community shall provide insurance against civil liability in respect of<br \/>\nmembers of the Council of the Community or any other representative of the Community by<br \/>\ncarrying out acts in the legitimate exercise of the mandate.<br \/>\n3. The members of the Council of the Community shall be personally responsible for:<br \/>\nfines imposed on the Community for negligent management; or<br \/>\nharmful;<br \/>\nb) Costs of defense in criminal proceedings in which they are accused and come to<br \/>\nto be condemned.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 7\u00ba<br \/>\nWays to Oblige<br \/>\nThe Community undertakes to sign jointly two of its<br \/>\nCommunity, except for acts of mere expediency in which the signature of a<br \/>\nOnly one of these advisors.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 8\u00ba<br \/>\nExtinction and Dissolution<br \/>\nThe dissolution and merger of the Community may be decided upon only by approval in<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members expressly convened for this purpose, taken with the<br \/>\nthree-quarters of the members present or duly represented voted in favour.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 9\u00ba<br \/>\nLiquidation of assets<br \/>\nThe General Conference and, subject to a resolution of the General Conference to that effect, the<br \/>\nThe Council of the Community may, before the extinction of the Community, decide that any<br \/>\nassets of the Community shall be, before or after the dissolution of the<br \/>\nCommunity, after all its debts and obligations have been settled or<br \/>\na provision to that effect, applied or transferred in any of the following ways:<br \/>\nDirectly for the purposes of any religious community of the Buddhist Community<br \/>\nTheravada of the Ajahn Chah Line Forest; or<br \/>\nfor any Community or institutions having objectives similar to those of this<br \/>\nCommunity; or<br \/>\nfor any Community for use for specific purposes falling within the scope of<br \/>\nwithin the ends.<\/p>\n<p>Chapter II<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>4<\/p>\n<p>OF THE COMMUNITY BODIES<\/p>\n<p>Section I<br \/>\nOrgans in general<\/p>\n<p>Art. 10\u00ba<br \/>\nCommunity bodies<\/p>\n<p>The following bodies of the Community shall be:<br \/>\na) The General Conference of Members or simply the General Conference;<br \/>\nthe Council of the Community;<br \/>\nc) The Spiritual Counselor;<br \/>\nd) Community Consultants.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 11\u00ba<br \/>\nNotices and notices<br \/>\n1. Notices or notices may be given in person or in writing or<br \/>\nby electronic means.<br \/>\n2. A member present or legitimately represented at a meeting of an organ of the<br \/>\nThe community has been duly convened.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 12\u00ba<br \/>\nConflicts of interest<br \/>\nThe holders of organs shall not take part in deliberations in which they or their<br \/>\nrelatives have a conflict of interest with the Community.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 13\u00ba<br \/>\nVotes of the bodies in general<br \/>\n1. Where possible, deliberations should be taken by consensus.<br \/>\n2. In the absence of consensus, votes are taken by show of hands.<br \/>\n3. Decisions are valid even if it turns out that not all<br \/>\nparticipants met the requirements to vote, if the vote of such participant is not<br \/>\ndecisive in the approval of the decision taken.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 14\u00ba<br \/>\nDeliberations<br \/>\n1. Decisions are generally adopted by simple majority.<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>5<\/p>\n<p>2. Decisions on amendments to the Statutes and internal rules shall be taken without<br \/>\napproval of a three-quarters majority of the members of the General Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 15\u00ba<br \/>\nWritten form of the deliberations of the bodies<br \/>\nDecisions may be taken on a written proposal and sent to all members of the<br \/>\nbody if the majority of the members required for the approval to be signed and the document signed<br \/>\nreceived by them at the Secretariat of the Community within 28 days of the date of<br \/>\nhis expedition to the members.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 16\u00ba<br \/>\nVotes of members<br \/>\n1. Each member shall have one vote.<br \/>\n2. Any objection to a member's ability to participate in a vote shall be<br \/>\nbe made before the decision is taken, and the decision of the presiding<br \/>\nmeeting.<br \/>\n3. Members of the bodies may participate by any effective means and<br \/>\nshall be considered as such for the purposes of the quorum, provided that each member which<br \/>\nattend the meeting can communicate with all other members directly and<br \/>\nsimultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>Section II<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members<\/p>\n<p>Art. 17\u00ba<br \/>\nmembers<br \/>\n1. The General Conference of Members shall be composed of the signatories of the minutes of<br \/>\nConstitution of the Community and by those to be approved by deliberation<br \/>\nunanimous agreement of the members of the General Conference.<br \/>\n2. Membership is personal and non-transferable.<br \/>\n3. The Council of the Community shall keep a register of the names and addresses of<br \/>\nmembers.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 18\u00ba<br \/>\nTermination of membership<br \/>\nMembership is lost<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>6<\/p>\n<p>(a)death;<br \/>\nby resignation submitted by the member in a written document;<br \/>\nc) By resolution approved by the General Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 19\u00ba<br \/>\nCompetence of the General Conference of Members<br \/>\nThe General Conference of Members shall have residual competence and shall be responsible for:<br \/>\nThese include:<br \/>\nto elect and remove the members of the Council of the Community;<br \/>\nb) Amend the statutes and approve and amend the regulations by majority of \u00be of<br \/>\npresent;<br \/>\napprove the merger or dissolution of the Community;<br \/>\nd) Approve the alienation or encumbrance of immovable property.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 20\u00ba<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members<br \/>\n1. The General Conference shall meet whenever convened at least once every fifteen years.<br \/>\nin fifteen months.<br \/>\n2. The Council of the Community, two members of the General Conference or the Councillor<br \/>\nSpiritually, they can convene the General Conference at any time.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 21\u00ba<br \/>\nConvening of a General Conference of Members<br \/>\n1. The General Conference of Members shall be convened in advance.<br \/>\nat least 15 days before the planned date of implementation.<br \/>\n2. However, in the event of a majority of members having the right to participate and vote in the<br \/>\nGeneral Conference, holding at least 90 per cent of the total voting rights,<br \/>\nagree, the meeting of the General Conference may be convened with a shorter deadline.<br \/>\n3. The invitation must specify the date and time, the place of the meeting and the respective<br \/>\nagenda.<br \/>\n4. Members who are unable to attend may be represented by another<br \/>\nmember by means of credentials.<br \/>\n5. The notice of meeting shall be communicated to all members.<br \/>\n6. Accidental omission in the convocation of a member of the General Conference of<br \/>\nMembers shall not affect the validity of decisions taken in accordance with the order of<br \/>\njobs.<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>7<\/p>\n<p>7. A session of the General Conference may be held if all members are<br \/>\npresent or represented and agree to deliberate, regardless of the existence of<br \/>\nor regularity of the call.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 22\u00ba<br \/>\nProcedures at the General Conference of Members<br \/>\nThe deliberative quorum shall be that of a member entitled to vote on the matter under discussion.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 23\u00ba<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members reconvened<br \/>\nIf the deliberative session is not held due to a lack of quorum, a new meeting is scheduled.<br \/>\nfor the same day and time of the following week.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 24\u00ba<br \/>\nPresident of the General Conference of Members<br \/>\n1. The General Conference of Members shall be led by the President of the Council of<br \/>\nCommunity.<br \/>\n2. In the absence of the President, the General Conference shall be headed by the Vice-President of the<br \/>\nCouncil of the Community.<br \/>\n3. If he also does not appear or is not present within fifteen minutes of the<br \/>\ntime set for the meeting, a nominated Community Councillor will chair the meeting<br \/>\nby the Council of the Community.<br \/>\n4. If only one Community Counsellor is present, and is willing to<br \/>\nHe could be the chair of the meeting.<br \/>\n5. If no Councillor of the Community is present and willing to preside over the<br \/>\nmeeting no later than fifteen minutes after the time appointed for the meeting, members shall<br \/>\nchoose from among them an \u201cad hoc\u201d Chair.<\/p>\n<p>Section III<br \/>\nFrom the Council of the Community<\/p>\n<p>Art. 25\u00ba<br \/>\nElection requirements<br \/>\nNo member of the Council of the Community may be appointed unless:<br \/>\nis over 18 years of age;<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>8<\/p>\n<p>b) Aspire to live according to the five precepts of the Theravada Tradition and protect<br \/>\nthe fiduciary interests of the Community.<br \/>\nhas the capacity to act as a good administrator of the Community's assets.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 26\u00ba<br \/>\nBenefits<br \/>\nHolders of the Council of the Community, in the exercise of their mandate, shall benefit from the<br \/>\nthird-party liability insurance coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 27\u00ba<br \/>\nComposition of the Council<br \/>\n1. The number of Community Councillors shall not be less than three or<br \/>\nmore than nine and should always be odd.<br \/>\n2. The office of Community Counsellor shall be personal and non-transferable.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 28\u00ba<br \/>\nCompetence of the Council of the Community<br \/>\nThe Council of the Community shall be the administrative body of the Community and shall be responsible for:<br \/>\nelect the President, a Secretary and a Treasurer;<br \/>\nensure the attainment of the objectives of the Community;<br \/>\nc) To present to the General Conference, on an annual basis, a financial and<br \/>\nactivities;<br \/>\nrepresent the Community, through its President, actively and<br \/>\npassively vis-\u00e0-vis any public or private entity;<br \/>\ne) Accept donations, legacies and inheritances for the benefit of inventory;<br \/>\nestablish the annual budget and activity plan.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 29\u00ba<br \/>\nAppointment of Community Counsellors<br \/>\n1. The General Conference may appoint Community Counsellors who<br \/>\navailable to hold the position.<br \/>\n2. The Spiritual Counselor may appoint a Community Counselor.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 30\u00ba<br \/>\nTermination of the duties of the Community Counsellors<br \/>\nA Community Councillor shall cease to hold office:<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>9<\/p>\n<p>(a)death;<br \/>\n(b) when he is dismissed;<br \/>\nc) when he resigns.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 31\u00ba<br \/>\nNotice of resignation<br \/>\n1. The request for resignation of the Council of the Community shall be notified to the<br \/>\nPresident of the Council of the Community one month in advance.<br \/>\n2. Resignation shall become effective only on the date on which the effects of the<br \/>\nresignation if at least three members remain on the Council of the Community.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 32\u00ba<br \/>\nGrounds for dismissal<br \/>\nThe Unjustified Absence of a Community Counsellor to Conference Meetings<br \/>\nGeneral and Council of the Community is sufficient ground for his dismissal.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 33\u00ba<br \/>\nRemuneration of Counsellors.<br \/>\nThe function of the Community Counsellors shall not be remunerated, unless the<br \/>\nGeneral Conference of Members, but in the exercise of their functions the Councillors of the<br \/>\nThe Community is entitled to reimbursement of reasonable expenses legitimately incurred by it.<br \/>\ncarried out.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 34\u00ba<br \/>\nCounsellors Procedures<br \/>\n1. The Secretary of the Council of the Community shall convene a meeting of the Council.<br \/>\nof the Community whenever one of the Community Counsellors so requests.<br \/>\n2. Community Counsellors may delegate their powers to a committee<br \/>\ncomposed of a Community Counsellor and a member of the General Conference,<br \/>\nThey shall set out the conditions for such delegation in the minutes.<br \/>\n2. The Councillors of the Community may impose conditions when delegating the<br \/>\ntheir powers.<br \/>\n3. The President of the Council of the Community may revoke the delegation of power to<br \/>\nanytime.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 37\u00ba<br \/>\nConflicts of interest<br \/>\nA Community Counsellor shall declare the nature and extent of any conflict<br \/>\ninterests, direct or indirect, with those of the Community.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 38\u00ba<br \/>\nMinutes<br \/>\nThe Council of the Community shall keep the record of all deliberations up to date.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 39\u00ba<br \/>\nAccountability<br \/>\nIn each financial year, the Council of the Community shall prepare and submit to the<br \/>\nGeneral Conference a reliable annual report of accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 40\u00ba<br \/>\nMeetings of the Council of the Community<br \/>\n1. Where consensus cannot be reached, the President of the Council of the Community shall<br \/>\nshall decide whether, due to the seriousness of the matter, urgency or legal requirement, the matter<br \/>\nshould be put to a vote. If the seriousness of the matter, urgency or legal imposition does not<br \/>\nIf justified, the matter will be moved to the next meeting.<br \/>\n2. At the meetings of the Council of the Community, only the Councillors of the Community have<br \/>\nright to vote.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 41\u00ba<br \/>\nSubcommittees<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>11<\/p>\n<p>1. The Council of the Community may set up subcommittees with appropriate functions.<br \/>\ndetermined with regard to their respective responsibilities, term of office, members and<br \/>\nskills.<br \/>\n2. Each subcommittee shall report its action to the Council of the Community and to the<br \/>\nGeneral Conference. 3. Each subcommittee shall include a Community Counsellor.<br \/>\na member of the General Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 42\u00ba<br \/>\nDismissal of Counsellors<br \/>\n1. The Spiritual Counselor may ask the Community Counsellors to<br \/>\nconvene a General Conference of Members to propose the resignation of a<br \/>\nAdviser. In the event of refusal, any member of the General Conference of Members may<br \/>\nCall it 30 days in advance.<br \/>\n2. Any member who is dismissed from his post on the initiative of the member<br \/>\nSpirituality shall have the right to participate and intervene in the next meeting of the Councillors of the<br \/>\nCommunity.<\/p>\n<p>Section IV<br \/>\nThe Spiritual Counselor<\/p>\n<p>Art. 43\u00ba<br \/>\nRecognition and mandate of the Adviser<br \/>\n1. The Community will have as Spiritual Counselor a monk of the Buddhist Community<br \/>\nTheravada da Floresta, recognized by deliberation of Community Consultants.<br \/>\n2. The Spiritual Counselor will hold his position until his death, reformation,<br \/>\nDisorder or removal from office at a meeting of Community Consultants.<br \/>\n3. The Spiritual Counselor may appoint a delegate to represent him.<br \/>\n4. The appointment of such a delegate shall be approved by the Community Consultants.<br \/>\n5. The Spiritual Counsellor, as a member of the Community, may call upon the<br \/>\nat any time, an extraordinary meeting of the General Conference of Members.<\/p>\n<p>Section V<br \/>\nCommunity Consultants<\/p>\n<p>Art. 44\u00ba<br \/>\nConsultant Requirements<\/p>\n<p>CIPC No \u00ba 592010040<\/p>\n<p>12<\/p>\n<p>The Community should have as Monks Consultants of the Theravada Buddhist Community<br \/>\nForests that comply with the rules and a standard of practice in accordance with the Tradition Line<br \/>\nthe Forest of Thailand, as taught by Ajahn Chah.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 45\u00ba<br \/>\nCompetence of Consultants<br \/>\nCommunity Consultants are responsible for:<br \/>\nTo mediate in cases of conflict between Community Counsellors and the Conference<br \/>\nGeneral Members;<br \/>\nb) Recognize new religious communities of the Theravada Buddhist Community<br \/>\nForest, from the line of Ajahn Chah and withdraw their recognition;<br \/>\nc) Appointing and dismissing Community Consultants;<br \/>\nd) Advise the Community Counsellors on the termination, dissolution and<br \/>\ntransfer of Community assets;<br \/>\ne) Take on the role of Spiritual Counselor if the place becomes vacant;<br \/>\nf) Appoint and dismiss the Spiritual Counselor.<\/p>\n<p>Art. 46\u00ba<br \/>\nDissolution or splitting<br \/>\n1. In the event of the dissolution of the community, its assets must be transferred to the<br \/>\nEnglish Sangha Trust, Ltd based in Amaravati Buddhist Monastery (Amaravati Buddhist<br \/>\nMonastery) Saint Margarets Lane Great Gaddesden Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire HP1<br \/>\n3BZ UK.<br \/>\n2.
